Valentine Crafts - easy enough for a 2 year old...

I have been having a hard time looking for easy Valentine crafts for my little Eli to do. I couldn't find much online or anywhere else that was easy enough for him to do mostly on his own. I started thiking on my own and decided gluing could be easy enough....
We made this heart garland together. I used cereal and tissue boxes and traced a heart shaped cookie cutter to make our heart. Then I punched holes on each side of the heart. I gave Eli an old baby food jar with glue and a little water and a sponge paint brush. He covered the hearts then I helped him with the glitter.  Bought some ribbon to string them together and it turned out very cute! I also used some Mod Podge Clear Acrylic Sealer to keep the glitter in place, hopefully for years to come! Now as you can see I have the hearts propped on the pegs of the shelf they would not hang flat on their own. I'm guessing that if you placed the holes better on the hearts there wouldn't be that problem. Oh, and there was glitter everywhere! But we had a great time! = )

A creative way of hiding junk and or clutter! I bought this spring rod at Wal-Mart and it fit perfect after measuring my little buffet. I sewed my own curtain really simple hems all the way around and a place on the top for the rod. If you are not much of a sewer you could buy a curtain as well!
I made two panels so our family could easily get to everything inside! This has now become Eli's shelf with play dough, puzzle and drawing storage!
